Belief in GOD’s BOOKS┇Holy Books of Islam ┇Quran (Koran), Injeel (Bible), Torah, and Zabur (Zaboor)

God’s Books (Scriptures) Muslims are obligated to believe in all inspired
Books that God has sent down to humanity through His Prophets. Every single Prophet received Inspiration. Some of the Inspiration was compiled and written
down to larger Books. Inspiration or Revelation or Wahyi in Arabic,
linguistically means inspiration, suggestion, commandment, revelation, something revealed
or written, or the idea inspired or revealed. Inspiration or Revelation comes to God’s
Human Prophets either directly or through an intermediary of the Angel Gabriel who brings
down the revelation. Every religion which believes in God believes
in Revelation. God’s Books contain commandments, prohibitions,
exhortations, stories, parables, reminders, descriptions of Himself, His Attributes, description
of the afterlife, Heaven, and Hell, the purpose of life, the creation of the Universe, Worship,
Piety, morals, manners, the importance of being good to one’s parents, and much more. These Books seek to guide man through every
aspect of life. God’s Revelations’ acts as a guide, an
instructional manual on how one’s life should be lived. God, in a great manifestation of His mercy,
compassion, and love, sent Books to teach, guide, explain His decrees, and reveal Himself
to humanity. “…Your Lord is the possessor of vast mercy…” (Qur’an 6:147) Islam makes it an article of faith to believe
in all of God’s Books, in their original, pure form. Say, [O believers], “We have believed in Allah
and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and
Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was
given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them,
and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him” (Quran 2:136) Unfortunately, the current modern day available
Torah, Psalms and Bible has been altered by men, and contain mixes of man-made ideas and
innovations and is corrupt at its current state. Whereas these Books still contain some remaining
traces of the truth, they are not in their original revealed form. God warns in his final Book: “So woe to those who write the “scripture”
with their own hands, then say, “This is from Allah,” in order to exchange it for a small
price. Woe to them for what their hands have written
and woe to them for what they earn.” (Quran 2:79) The Quran, on the other hand, is the only
scripture in existence today in its original language and words. Not one letter of the Quran has been changed
since its revelation. When previous Holy Scriptures got altered
and corrupted by human hand, God in his Mercy sent new messengers and then finally revealed
his last and final Book the Holy Qur’an which God has taken it upon Himself to safeguard
& protect his last and final Revelation to mankind from manmade alterations or any form
of corruption. The Quran is in a language that still exists
today, No other scripture exists today in its original language that it was revealed
in. The Holy Quran is meant for all people till
the end of time. The only Book that has been preserved in its
pure, original revealed form is the Holy Quran. Never has the Quran been altered or modified
by human hand. Everything it contains is truth, containing
no falseness and will remain so for eternity. Muslims believe the Quran has abrogated all
previous scriptures before it meaning it cancels the rulings of the previous scriptures and
renders them inapplicable going forward since the previous scriptures were meant for the
previous nations and not meant for us. God in his Infinite wisdom, did not feel it
fit to bring down the Holy Quran at the time because the Message would not have been able
to be grasped. As the Creator of the World and everything
it contains, God knows who is capable of understanding and who wouldn’t. Even though different revelations came down
to different Prophets and nations, the general Message had always been the same, ‘to worship
God Alone and to follow his Commandments.’ The Quran mentions the following Books by
name: Torah was sent with the Prophet Moses (Musa
in Arabic) to the children of Israel Psalms (Zabur in Arabic) was sent w/ Prophet
David (Dawud in Arabic) to the children of Israel
Gospel (Injeel in Arabic) was sent with Prophet Jesus (Isa in Arabic) to the children of Israel
The Scripture Revealed to Prophet Ibrahim Qur’an was sent with Prophet Muhammad to our
nation, which is the last nation, to all of mankind. It is the Final Revelation to humanity; no
other scripture will be revealed after it.
