Choosing a Database – Seminole State Library

Articles from newspapers, magazines, and journals
as well as ebooks and streaming media, can be found through the Seminole State library
databases. To access the databases, you’ll want to start on the library homepage – www.seminolestate.edu/library.
Then, click on the button that says “Articles/Databases”. The first page has all databases that you
have access to as a Seminole State student, faculty, or staff. You can scroll through
the databases and view a title as well as a short description. If none of these databases
seem to quite match, what you can do is narrow this list down even further. Take a look at
the menu that says “Choose a Subject”. Again, you can scroll through this list and see if
any of these subjects match your research question. If a specific subject category doesn’t
quite match what you’re looking for, a good bet is to click on the All Subjects/Multidisciplinary
category. At the top of any of these categories, there’s always going to be one or two Best
Bets. Those are databases recommended by the Seminole State librarians that most students
find helpful for these categories. If a tutorial is available on how to search a databases,
they will be linked in the description. The remainder of the databases are in the category
are below. When you find a database you want to look at, all you have to do is click on
the title and login to the library in order to search for that database. For additional
help with databases or research, contact the library. 407 708 2305 or email us at [email protected]
