All across our nation people are being
hurt by acts of power based violence. Such as stalking, dating violence, bullying and
sexual assault. Green Dot is a strategy that asks everyone to take a stand
against violence. Every action. Every word. Every single choice a person makes to hurt someone
else is a red dot. And this affects our community. We won’t tolerate red dots on
our campus. Not on my campus. Not on my campus. Preventing violence like this is
our responsibility, a choice to step up, intervene, take a stand. A green dot is
one choice that says violence is not okay. A green dot can be as simple as asking someone if they’re okay at a party. Giving someone a ride home. Calling the police
or getting a hold of security when a situation just gives you a bad feeling.
A green dot can even be as simple as wearing a green dot t-shirt or a green dot pin.
Together, our choices create a culture where violence is not tolerated. We care
for each other by taking action. We need more green dots. All of us all. All of us. All of us.
Nobody has to do everything. But everyone has to do something.
