IELTS speaking questions 2019 part two [EXPERIENCES]

hi I’m IELTS Mike wouldn’t it be
fantastic to go to your IELTS speaking test and when you got to part two and
got the question to answer in part two you’d already seen it you had already
had time to think about it to think about what you’re going to say
to prepare some vocabulary to prepare what ideas you’re going to talk about to
even perhaps practice talking about it to even perhaps have a model answer
don’t you think you’re going to do much better than if you’ve never ever seen
this question before this is what this video is about I’m going to be
introducing to you some of the current questions that are in the IELTS test now
I’m going to create five videos because we’ve got a lot of questions to look at
I’ve divided them under the five things that I’ve identified for the test people
places things activities experiences describe a time you were sleepy but had
to stay awake I recall being so tired I could barely keep my eyes open during my
graduation day from university I was celebrating the end of my student life
with classmates friends and family in China as you may know education matters
a lot it is a very stressful and labor-intensive experience and parents
are anxious to see their child certified with high honors and embark on their
career as such getting your diploma is quite a big deal in China both for
parents and graduates my parents lived in the suburbs I was comfortable to be
at their home and away from the hustle and bustle of the city I was looking
forward to all the day’s activities planned for me on this special day we
drove to the University for the graduation ceremony and speeches the
auditorium was full with the graduates up front and the friends and family
sitting towards the back the commencement speaks was delivered by
the Dean which was long but very expiring next up was dinner at a buffet
restaurant where there was a huge variety of dishes and desserts I stuffed
myself on my favorite food I went back to my dormitory to change in the casual
calls before going to the after grad party at the party we talked about our
futures some graduates had job prospects and some were returning to the school to
further their education all in all it was an exciting but very exhausting day
describe a time when you did not tell a friend the truth I remember the first
time I met one of my best friends and we were still teenagers then and we were
both waiting to go for an interview to try and get a part-time job at a local
supermarket there were several of us in the room waiting to be called to go and
have an interview and we happened to be sitting next to each other and this
person who then became one of my best friends you know said have you been for
interviews before so that kind of broke the ice because I don’t usually talk to
people so easily if I don’t know them and so we started talking from there and
we of course started talking about the job first of all talking about what kind
of work we would be doing at the supermarket but also why we wanted the
money and we both wanted to go to France which was my dream at the time
something I was able to accomplish later and so we both had this common interest
in France and we could both speak in very little French and from there grew a
very deep friendship and we still are friends today so that was really quite a
special time but I didn’t get the job describe advice you received on choosing
a course or job during my final year in secondary school the student guidance
teacher had a brief interview with each graduating student to discuss their
goals and give some recommendations as you may know guidance counselor’s helps
students improve their academic performance pursue the right courses and
assist with personal problems during our discussion I stated that I wanted to be
in business for myself or an entrepreneur we discussed the pros and
cons of a business order and the financial risks involved he suggested
the best course of action would be to attend the local university and pursue a
bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration I took his
suggestion to heart went to university and graduated with an MBA degree
although school was a very stressful and labor-intensive experience I enjoyed
going to university especially the business communications ethics law and
finance courses I met many new people and made many new friends I continue to
stay in touch with many of my old classmates on WeChat which is a Chinese
social media network after graduating I worked briefly in retail as a shoe
salesman and eventually moved on and now I am a commission sales representative
markings computer parts and accessories although
I am not technically in business for myself I control my timetable and have
acquired better time management and communication skills I’m not sure if I
will continue in this career but the advice the counselor gave me was very
helpful and has opened up many opportunities describe an experience
when you got bored when you were with others the last time my colleagues and I
had a day off work we had talked previously about activities we could do
and decided that we would go to the beach to chill out and relax for an
afternoon we met at a bus station close to work as many of us lived in different
parts of the city it was a beautiful day for our excursion because it was warm
and sunny and not being on the weekend we expected the beach not to be too busy
when we got to the beach we found a suitable location rented chairs and sat
under beach umbrellas to avoid direct sunlight for fear of getting sunburned
or heatstroke we had agreed not to talk shop and since we had exchanged most
adventures and stories we did not speak very often as a result I quickly got
bored as I usually prefer a more active activity like hiking climbing visiting a
historical site or a place of interest fortunately I had brought a paperback
novel to read as I had anticipated the day to be quite inactive and boring
during the odd break from reading I ventured into the water more to cool off
and swim as it was very hot as it got later in the day we decided to stay and
watch the sunset which was spectacular we packed up and met again at a
restaurant near work to cool off grab a bite to eat and have a couple of drinks
before returning to our homes it turned out to be a very enjoyable day relaxing
and getting away from the daily grind describe a time you enjoyed a free
day off work or school at first this is actually quite difficult to think of a
time when I wasn’t either studying or working but now I’m thinking of when I’d
finished all of my exams at University and that was it it was before I had
actually graduated I was still waiting to hear my results and I hadn’t got a
job so I was completely free it’s quite a strange feeling because you’re not
used to that situation but I slept in late late for me I got up about 8
o’clock or 8:30 in the morning I had breakfast waiting for me thanks to my
mother I had my breakfast and then I decided to go out because by that time
most of the shops would be open and so I decided to go to one of the local book
shops and I just finished a very interesting book about the history of
China I now wanted to get something else to read and I thought well I can spend
all day in the coffee shop reading and that’s exactly what I did I went to the bookshop I found a very interesting
travel book about France I bought that then I went straight off
to the coffee shop when she’s around the corner from where I live and ordered a
cup of coffee a cake my favorite one in fact is chocolate cake and I stayed
there really for hours and and ours even missing lunch which is
unusual for me and going home at dinnertime to have dinner with my family
very special day describe a special day that you remember well one of my most
memorable occasions was my graduation from university I was celebrating the
end of my student life with classmates friends and family in China as you may
know education matters a lot and it is a very stressful and labor-intensive
experience and parents are anxious to see their child’s certified with high
honors and embark on their career as such getting your diploma is a big deal
in China both for parents and graduates while I attended University I lived in

casual clothes before going to the grad party at the party we talked about our
futures some graduates had jobs prospects and some were returning to
further their education all in all it was an exciting but very exhausting day so I hope you found this video useful

themes that I haven’t covered in this video questions and comments are most
