well today’s story is
about the riot which broke out in Ephesus when Paul went to preach there riot wow thats sounds scary Paul’s third missionary journey was in
Ephesus did you receive the Holy Spirit he asked the believers there the people
had no idea what he was talking about then what baptism did you experience he
asked them once again the baptism of John they answered Paul then went on
explaining them the John’s baptism was to show a desire to turn away from sin
but John always encouraged people to believe in Jesus the people understood
this and were soon baptized in the name of Jesus when Paul placed his hand on
them they immediately received the Holy Spirit Paul then went to the synagogue
to preach he stayed there for three months and preached about God’s kingdom
some people rejected his message with some turned into believers Paul took the
believers and continued to preach in the lecture hall he did this for two years
and many people came to know about God’s message
God also gave Paul the power to do amazing miracles and many people were
healed through the powers however there was a group of Jewish people who were
traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits they tried to use Jesus’s
name to do their miracles by seeing I command you to come out in the name of
Jesus who Paul preaches about but they came across one evil spirit which said
to them I know Jesus and I know Paul but who are you the spirit that jumped on
them and attacked them the Jewish group ran out of the house to escape the evil
spirit the news of this incident spread quickly through Ephesus and a great fear
settled on the city people began to honor Jesus’s name and many of them
started believing in him and confessed their sins a little later
Paul felt the Holy Spirit telling him to visit Macedonia he went to several other
cities too but then again he heard of troubles stirring up in Ephesus the
trouble began with Demetrius Demetrius was a silversmith who had a flourishing
business building silver shrines for the Greek goddess Artemis one day Demetrius
brought his workers together and said you know our money comes from
this business you have also heard about Paul who spreads the word that our gods
are nothing he’s doing this not only in Ephesus but in other places too our own
goddess Artemis is losing respect of people because of Paul she’s being
robbed for importance Demetrius a speech stirred up the crowd they were very
angry and so they rushed to the amphitheater hoping to capture Paul
Paul’s companions begged him not to go there the crowd grew more angry and
unruly until the mayor was able to get them to quieten down and listen to him
the mayor said everyone knows that Ephesus is the guardian of the great
Artemis so don’t do anything that will get you in trouble if demetrius has a
case against paul then take it to court but don’t riot or the roman government
will come down on us hearing this the crowd broke up and went back to their
own work Thank goodness Paul was saved yes now it’s time for today’s question what was the name of
the silversmith who stirred up trouble in Ephesus
his name was Demetrius well done gumbo today story is called a revelation of John do you mean something like a discovery is that it wow sounds exciting let’s heard the story first and
see what it is all about yes yes go on with the story John was one of jesus’ twelve disciples and he was
arrested and sent to the island of Patmos while in prison John had a vision
God showed him what the future held he wrote about this vision to seven
churches to warn them that the believers should be more obedient to God he warned
them about difficult times ahead and that they would have to suffer and be
persecuted because they stood strong for Jesus there were some believers who were
being lazy about obeying God while some were lazy about sharing the good news
with others some even could not get along with each other
John’s letters warned them to be more serious about their faith in the vision
God showed John the power and glory of heaven so John shared the indescribable
beauty and joy of heaven through his letters
jesus promised to come back to her and take the believers with him to heaven
and he promised to come soon wow that was a wonderful story holy am glad you kids loved it so now for
today’s question when was John sent after his arrest to the island Atmos
yay I remember well done gumbo today story is about Paul preaching God’s
message through letters after he was arrested
well that sounds quite interesting well it is when Paul was arrested by the
Roman commander in Jerusalem Paul did not waste any time his goal of preaching
and spreading God’s kingdom was always the first thing on his mind even in
prison he stayed focused on his goal he wrote letters to the churches he visited
and also to those he had only heard about just to encourage the believers in
their faith many of the New Testament books are actually letters from Paul
Romans were writing to the church in Rome to share the good news of Jesus the
two Corinthians were written to the church in Corinth giving guidelines on
how to live as believers the two letters to Timothy and wanted Titus are also
books of the New Testament Paul was either for believers to be
strong in their faith and in their obedience to God that was a short and
sweet story loved it I am glad Gumbo so now time for the question to who were the 2
corinthians written they were ready to a church in corinth excellent tabi today I’m going to tell you the story about
what happened to Paul when he went to preach in Thessalonica Berea and Athens
Paul and Silas arrived in a town called Thessalonica and like always Paul went
to the synagogue to teach people about Jesus he told the people that Jesus was
the Messiah of God who they had been waiting for he told them how Jesus died
for them and was brought back to life many people there both men and women
believed Paul’s teaching and became followers of Jesus this angered the
Jewish leaders they did not like the fact their people were becoming
believers so they got hold of a few men on the street and stirred them up
against Paul the mob was so angry that they wanted to hurt him
first they attacked the house of Jason because they thought Paul and Silas
weren’t there when they did not find him there they dragged Jason out onto the
street and brought him to the City Council. Paul is turning our city upside down with his crazy teachings they said
and this man lets them stay in his home he is guilty of treason against Caesar
because they are loyal to Jesus the people in the city were confused by
these accusations finally they let Jason go after he paid a fine the believers
helped Paul and Silas to escape from the dangerous situation in pestle annika
from Thessalonica they went to a town called Berea and like always went to a
synagogue there the people in Berea were much more open to Paul’s teachings and
they listened to him carefully they read through the scriptures every day making
sure that he was teaching the right thing many Jews an important Greek women
and men started believing in Jesus because of their teachings but the
religious leaders of Thessalonica heard what was happening so they came to Berea
to stir up more of trouble seeing this the believers of Berea st. Paul to
Athens while Timothy and Silas stayed back when Paul arrived in Athens he saw
idols everywhere in the city and this made him very sad he went to the
synagogue and spoke every day in the city’s public square
he also debated some of the philosophers and told everyone about Jesus’s
resurrection they thought he was a little crazy or that he was trying to
push some strange religion the philosophers took Paul to the council
and was asked to explain everything about the religion which was strange for
them Paul stood up before the council and
said men of Athens I can see that you are all very religious with the altars
and idols that I see around there was one I saw which had an inscription on it
saying to an unknown God but how are you worshiping this God without even knowing
his name well let me tell you about him he is the God who created the world and
everything in it he is the lord of heaven and earth and he does not live in
any man-made building he gives life and breath to seek him and find him which
makes him live very close to us and not in any Idol made by a stone carver or a
metal worker he has forgiven us about this in the past but now he commands
everyone to turn against idols and turned to him he has set a day for
judging the world by the man who he raised from the dead Paul’s teachings
made some of the Philosopher’s laugh but there were people who wanted to hear
more some of them even became believers as they understood what Paul was
teaching about Jesus so did you enjoy the story oh yes it was wonderful we
loved it well then let me ask all of you a
question where did Paul and Silas go after escaping from Thessalonica they
went to town called berea well done today’s story is about Paul getting
arrested in Jerusalem Paul big goodbyes to the believers in
Ephesus and headed for Jerusalem some of Paul’s friends begged him not to go
there because Paul had received death threats
from the Jewish leaders who were very angry with him but Paul was ready to
give his life for Jesus sake his friends were unable to convince him
otherwise so some of his friends went along with him
in Jerusalem Paul met the leaders of the church and told them all about his
experiences preaching in other cities and the number of people who were
following Jesus now the leaders praised God for all the work he had done but
then they said we know that a lot of Jews now believe in Jesus because of
your preaching however we take the law of Moses very
seriously the Christians of Jerusalem tell us that your preaching is trying to
make people turn their backs to Moses laws so what should we do now
we have an idea we have some men who are going to the temple to get their heads
shaved and be part of the purification ceremony pay for them to have their head
shaved and everyone will know that the rumors are false and that you encourage
people to obey the laws of Moses Paul agreed to their plan and he went through
the purification process the next day but there was some Jews from Asia who
saw him in the temple and immediately started a riot against him they grabbed
him and yelled at him saying this is the man who teaches people to go against
Moses laws he even speaks against the temple gradually the entire city joined
in the riot against Paul the people dragged him out of the temple trying to
kill him that the Roman commander arrested Paul and put him in Chains when
he heard the news of the riot he asked the people about Paul and what
he had done people were shouting out different things about him and the
commander was confused he had no clear idea as to what Paul
might have done the crowd pointed to Paul and continued shouting kill him
kill him Paul asked the commander if he would get permission to speak to the
crowd the commander let him the crowd went quiet when they saw Paul come
forward to speak Paul said I am a Jew and have learned
the Jewish laws and customs I have obeyed them and I’m eager to honor God
just as you are there was a time when I persecuted the believers of Jesus I even
went to Damascus to stop them from preaching against Jesus but Jesus
himself spoke to me on that journey I now know that he is the real Son of God
I was chosen by God to spread his message to the entire world
one day I had a vision of God in the temple he told me to leave Jerusalem
because the people here would not believe my message I argued with him but
he still told me to leave Jerusalem he asked me to go far away and preach to
the Gentiles when the crowd heard Paul’s heed the words
Gentile they went crazy and began shouting kill him kill him
the commander brought Paul inside and ordered that he be beaten as the
soldiers were beginning to beat him Paul asked if it was legal to treat a Roman
citizen in this way you are a Roman citizen the commander asked yes I am I
am a citizen by birth Paul said so they untied him and did not
beat him that was a really enjoyable story holy yes it was so what’s the question
for today today’s question is where did Jesus
appeared to Paul on his journey I know when Paul was on his way to Damascus
persecute the believers wonderful freckles well done keep watching we’ll be back soon bye-bye to watch more videos please
