Stupid F*ing Bird – Theatre Columbus State

Stupid F*ing Bird – Theatre Columbus State

(Gong Rings) Here we are… Not in a lie
Not some time-gone-by fable Or far-fetched fairy tale
Nothing stale Not a retread or a rehash
Nothing tarnished or trashed By the hacks or the hackneyed,
By the starlets or star-turns By the has-beens who’ve crashed and burned… It’s a very popular play with colleges and
universities and the fact that it actually takes classic theater, which is Chekhov’s
“The Seagull,” but puts it in a modern time and gives it a modern twist–it’s an opportunity
for our students to actually experience something classic and contemporary at the same time. We’re done here. Nina, get off the stage! Oh, is this a part of it too? If you can’t even… I mean, if you can’t even… F*ck it! I have some relationship problems and some
friends who are along the sidelines that are going to come to the forefront and it starts
developing into a story more driven by characters than by plot. Oh, please. You don’t like plays now? I thought you loved the theater. We need new kinds of theater. New forms… I mean, f*ck! Do you have any idea what passes itself off
as theater these days? The play is performed in Nestor Hall at 8:00 p.m. nightly,
Wednesday, July 24th through Saturday the 27th with a special
2:00 p.m. matinee on Thursday. All shows are free. Mature audiences only.
