Welcome to the Library

Welcome to the Library

We all know uni can be
a little bit scary… at first. So where do you start? You’ve got your time table,
you’ve checked out myGriffith, and found your course in learning at Griffith. But what about the library? Griffith Library is more than
just books on shelves. It’s the heart of the university. The library has a really
amazing website where you can find resources and information to help you with your study. There are books, articles, news… a world of online stuff, and heaps more in
the library catalog. You can also use our
bonus plus scheme to access books from other Australian and New Zealand libraries. The library website has plenty of resources to help with your research, referencing, and also writing your assignments. There’s also details of older library services. The library isn’t just the start
of studying at university, it’s the center for your success. The library has six locations, from Park Lands on the Gold Coast
to South Bank in Brisbane. So whether you are
online or on campus, you’ll always have the library
close at hand. The library staff are
also very friendly, and know a thing or two. They’re all here to help. The library is the hub for the resources
and the support you’ll need to be successful in your study. The library staff can help you from locating and accessing information, to helping with any IT questions
that you may have. And they’re also happy to point out where all the power points are. Not only does the library
have a ton of resources and a whole bunch of people that are here to help you, they also have some really
great spaces for study. Check out the spaces,
you can’t miss them. Just look for the signs. This is where everyone hangs
out to work in groups, or just catch up with friends. Pretty comfortable, right? The social spaces in each library
also have copying and printing services, kiosks to add money to
your printing account, and express loan units to check out books The library also has bookable study rooms. These rooms are perfect
for working in groups. So bring your laptops and go for it. Go to the library website
for more information and to book the rooms online. But if you want a bit of quiet, to discuss ideas with friends and classmates, or just catch up on your reading, then try out our quiet spaces,
and just relax away from the noise and the buzz. Or for those times when you need to get that assignment finished, or study for exams, the library also has silent spaces. These are the best places
to study individually with no distractions. But remember to be thoughtful
of other students and put your device on silent. You can visit the library in person
or give them a call, we’ll chat online, or even email. You can also find the answers
to common questions from “Ask us”, which is available 24/7. And don’t forget to keep up
with the library services and updates on our Facebook
and Twitter channels. And download the Griffith app. It has all the library info. Welcome to
the Griffith University Library.
